Hometown: Carlisle, Massachusetts
College: Colby College, Environmental Policy & Anthropology
Hobbies: Surfing, running, and baking!
Why Forager: I am interested in pursuing a career related to building a more sustainable global food system and building the local food movement is a huge part of that, so the mission of Forager was really interesting to me. I also wanted to gain experience working in the private sector and a tech startup seemed like an awesome place to learn a lot and develop valuable professional skills.
Favorite part of internship: Overall, I love the fast pace and dynamic environment of working for a startup. More specifically, I have enjoyed helping with outreach campaigns and sales calls and meetings, as well as working on customer success-related tasks for both buyers and suppliers.
Favorite local food: Baked goods from Tandem, especially the scones
Favorite place in Portland: Higgins beach (technically in Scarborough but close enough!)
Hometown: Portland, Maine
Education: Babson College, Business Analytics and Finance with Sustainability Certificate
Hobbies: Ultimate Frisbee
Why Forager: I wanted to contribute to a mission-based startup. Babson is an entrepreneurship college that teaches a triple bottom line of each company having to be good for the people, planet, and make a profit. Also, I have always appreciated Portland’s values of buying local and keeping the city independent. A startup like Forager with a mission to make local food more accessible made a perfect fit.
Favorite part of internship : I’ve enjoyed the data analytics aspect of working at Forager. It has had the most intellectually stimulating projects and substantial results.
Favorite local food: Holy Donut
Favorite place in Portland: Jet Video in the Deering Area, rest in peace.
Hometown: Washington, DC

Why Forager: I was interested in the role technology can play in sustainable food systems and was excited to work for a startup here in Maine.
Favorite part of internship: Working to bring new grocers onto the platform and learning from Emily, the Produce Buyer at Portland Food Co-op.
Favorite Local Food: Pancakes with Maine blueberries
Favorite spot in Portland: Back Cove Trail

Hometown: Ringoes, New Jersey
Education: Colby College, Economics with a Concentration in Financial Markets
Hobbies: Running, Playing Bass Guitar
Why Forager: My first ever job, in highschool, was working at an orchard, where I split my time picking fruit and working the cash register. Working there, I saw how difficult it can be for farms to connect with nearby buyers, so when I heard about Forager, I immediately saw the platform’s potential. I’m super excited to be working for a mission driven startup!
Favorite Part of Internship: I’ve really enjoyed working with Forager on engaging potential strategic partners and investors. The data analytics work that I’ve done has also been incredibly interesting.
Favorite Local Food: Micucci’s
Favorite Portland Place: Bull Feeney’s
Hometown: Falmouth, Maine
Education: St. Lawrence University, Environmental Studies and Statistics
Why Forager: As an environmental studies major, I’ve spent a lot of time studying conventional agriculture and more sustainable agriculture techniques, the local food movement being one aspect. I run a club at school called Seed to Table that is working to bring more local food into our dining hall by growing produce and selling it. This has exposed me to the many barriers that both suppliers and buyers face when running a local program. I was excited to work with a company that was successfully eliminating these barriers and making local food more accessible.
Favorite part of internship: I’ve enjoyed working in the start-up environment, jumping into projects of all sorts in sales, marketing, and account management.
Favorite Local Food: Little Lads Popcorn
Favorite Place in Portland: The Eastern Prom
